Job summary

Gwinnett Technical College is seeking a Federal Work Study Enrollment Support to assist the Enrollment Support Center at the Alpharetta campus. This non-benefited, part-time role supports student services and relies on the FWS program.

Job Description:

This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the Student Affairs Division that reports to the Federal Work Study Supervisor in Enrollment Support at the Alpharetta campus. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and instructions from the United States Department of Education.

Hours:

Days and Hours are flexible up to 19 hours per week during business hours, Mon – Fri, 8am to 6pm.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester at Gwinnett Technical College and be in good academic standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the minimum qualifications, strong ability to interact with students, staff, and community members in a polite and professional manner; outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently and to use proper judgment when applicable; ability to manage multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced office setting; knowledge of GTC campus including Student Services functions (Financial Aid, Student Records, Admissions).

Job Description Summary:

Under close supervision, provides clerical support and office assistance to the Enrollment Support Center and related personnel. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
