Axos Bank seeks a strategic First Vice President of Unsecured Consumer Lending to lead the business unit, drive growth, profitability, and customer experience, and optimize loan origination and offer performance.

The ideal candidate will be data-driven, with deep consumer lending expertise and a passion for scalable, customer-centric programs, managing cross-functional teams and regulatory-aligned processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred (Advanced degree a plus).
• 5+ years in consumer lending or unsecured lending with a track record of product/portfolio growth.
• Data-driven decision making to inform strategy and targets.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional influence across credit/risk, marketing, compliance, product, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead production results and unit profitability for the unsecured loan portfolio.
• Identify and drive strategic opportunities for growth and optimization of unsecured loan products.
• Develop and refine loan offer framework to improve conversion and profitability using analytics.
• Collaborate with Retail Credit, Marketing, Compliance, Product, Banking and Technology teams to align goals and performance.
• Ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance in loan issuance and third-party partnerships.
• Lead regular reviews and provide data-driven insights to improve portfolio performance.

$115,000.00/Yr. - $165,000.00/Yr.
Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%
Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%
These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.
About This JobThe First Vice President (FVP) of Unsecured Consumer Lending serves as the business unit leader responsible for driving growth, performance, profitability, lead optimization, operational efficiency, and customer experience. This role leads the development and execution of strategies to deepen engagement with existing customers, enhance loan origination efficiency, and deliver high-quality, profitable loan production. The ideal candidate is a strategic, data-driven leader with deep expertise in consumer lending and a passion for building scalable, customer-centric programs.
Responsibilities:

• Production Results and Business Unit Profitability: Accountable for business unit production and financial results.
• Strategic Leadership and Execution: Identity and recommend strategic opportunities for growth and optimization of our Unsecured Loan products. Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans to achieve loan origination volume and customer engagement targets.
• Product & Program Management: Develop and refine the personal loan offer framework, enhancing personalization, eligibility criteria, and customer experience to improve conversion rates and profitability. Utilize testing, analytics, and innovation to continuously optimize offer performance and funnel efficiency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Retail Credit, Marketing, Compliance, Product, Banking, and Technology teams to align on goals, performance metrics, forecasts, and portfolio objectives. Ensure a seamless, member-centric experience throughout the loan issuance and offer lifecycle by fostering strong cross-departmental collaboration.
• Operational Excellence & Compliance: Ensure operational excellence in all loan issuance processes and third-party partner integrations. Maintain strict compliance with all regulatory and policy requirements, upholding high standards of quality and risk management.
• Performance Reporting: Lead regular business reviews and performance updates with senior leadership. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for accelerating growth and improving portfolio performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred (Advanced degree is a plus.)
• 5+ years of experience in consumer lending, unsecured lending, or a closely related financial services field, with a track record of driving product or portfolio growth.
• Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to inform strategy, set performance targets, and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing projects or teams. Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders in areas such as credit/risk, marketing, compliance, product management, banking operations, and technology.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate insights and strategies to both technical teams and senior executives.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A passion for innovation and delivering a superior customer experience in lending.
