Job summary

Pinkerton Academy invites applications for the Educator Apprentice program, an academic-year, non-exempt position designed to develop future classroom teachers through a four-stage apprenticeship and paraprofessional experience.

Apprentices work with mentor teachers and the Dean of Faculty, participate in monthly meetings, complete coursework toward licensure, and gain hands-on experience in a diverse, inclusive school community while delivering student-centered support.

Qualifications

• High School diploma; strong communication skills; flexibility; high degree of confidentiality; basic computer skills.
• With training and assistance, must be able to lift, move, and travel around a large campus.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Enrolls in coursework toward licensure while serving as paraprofessional.
• Applies instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and ESOL needs.
• Logs observations, lesson plans, and assessments in a shared portfolio.
• Collaborates with mentor teachers and other staff and attends monthly apprentice meetings.
• Performs duties as assigned by supervisor and supports a safe, inclusive environment.
