Job summary

NRG Energy seeks Plant Operator/Operator Trainees to operate and monitor auxiliary equipment supporting electricity production. You will handle steam plant equipment, read meters, and document data while following safety guidelines.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience. Willingness to work rotating shifts and travel as needed is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of related field or industrial experience.
• Ability to operate switches and valves and understand their effect on plant operations.
• Ability to communicate plant conditions clearly to others.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor steam power plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Interpret meter readings and troubleshoot equipment.
• Record data on shift logs and charts as directed.
• Perform routine cleaning and prepare for shifts.
