Type One Energy is seeking a Technical Project Manager in Knoxville, TN to drive key technical programs from planning through delivery. You will bridge engineering, physics, operations, and leadership to ensure aligned priorities and timely execution in a fast-paced R&D environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years in project management, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in project engineering or project management.
• Strong understanding of engineering and product development processes.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Jira, Smartsheet and MS Project.
• Strong organizational skills and structured problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, execution strategies, and detailed schedules aligned with company objectives.
• Serve as the central point of contact between technical teams, executive leadership, external vendors, and partner organizations.
• Facilitate effective communication to ensure shared understanding of priorities, timelines, and constraints.
• Collaborate with finance and operations to forecast budgets, manage expenditures, and track resource utilization.
• Maintain a detailed risk register and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks.
