Job summary

Type One Energy Group in Knoxville is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to support the manufacturing, assembly, testing, and qualification of High Temperature Superconducting magnets and related fusion technologies. You will handle cable production, coil assembly, electrical testing, and troubleshooting in a precision environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, testing, or laboratory environments.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience using electrical test and measurement equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, process, and prepare HTS cables and conductors according to engineering specifications.
• Assemble electro-Mechanical components, coils, and magnet systems.
• Execute electrical, mechanical, and functional testing of cables, coils, and magnet assemblies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, assembly procedures, and bills of materials.
• Maintain production records, work instructions, and quality documentation.
