Job summary

Bloomington Public Schools is seeking a part-time Fusion ALC Activity Assistant for the Middle School program in Oak Grove, Olson, and Valley View Middle Schools. You will engage with students, support academic labs, art, science, outdoor activities, and team-building experiences.

The role requires aging 18+, a high school diploma, and prior youth experience; you may transport between sites. Schedule is 1–4 days weekly, with 2.5–2.75 hour sessions.

Position:

Middle School Fusion ALC Program- Activity Assistant

Hours & Schedule:

• Work scheduled program hours, which can be 1 to 4 days a week, Monday - Thursday
• Programming hours are between 2.5 hours and 2.75 hours and vary for different programs
• This is a part-time, at-will, non-benefited position

Salary:

Class II Range: $17.60 - $22.95/hr

Required Experience:

• 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working with youth
• Ability to transport self between work sites

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with youth with diverse needs including developmental, physical, and/or social-emotional needs
• Experience working with youth from socio-economic,diverse backgrounds
• Experience engaging youth in developmentally appropriate activities such as arts, sports, team building, outdoor and/or academic support
• Spanish, Somali, Pashto, Dari speakers

Job Description:

Under the general direction of the licensed program staff, the Fusion ALC Activity Assistant engages in developmental relationships with students and supports them in activities such as academic labs, team building, art, science and outdoor experiences.
