Job summary

Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery in Carson, CA, is seeking a seasoned Furniture Repair Technician to inspect, repair, restore, and refinish a wide range of furniture and related items. You will work with wood, leather, fabric, ceramic, marble, metal, and other materials, ensuring high craftsmanship and attention to detail.

When workload is light, you will assist Crating by constructing and preparing protective crates for shipment, maintaining safety, accuracy, and quality throughout all repairs

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a furniture repair technician, furniture refinisher, restoration specialist, upholsterer, or similar skilled trade professional.
• Strong knowledge of furniture construction, finishes, adhesives, upholstery methods, and repair techniques.
• Ability to lift, move, and position furniture and crating materials safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect furniture and related items to identify damage, determine repair methods, and estimate materials and time needed.
• Repair, restore, refinish, and touch up wood furniture, including scratches, dents, chips, broken joints, veneer damage, water damage, and finish inconsistencies.
• Repair leather and upholstered furniture, including tears, scratches, seams, padding, fabric damage, staining, and other cosmetic or structural concerns.
• Disassemble and reassemble furniture safely to complete repairs and ensure structural integrity.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; follow all company safety procedures and proper handling practices.
