Job summary

Scot Forge in Spring Grove, IL is seeking an entry level Furnace Technician responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and validating furnaces and related systems. You will work with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems and PLCs, with safety as a priority and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot large machinery.
• Experience with a volt meter preferred.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and PLCs.
• HVAC and blueprint reading experience preferred.
• High attention to detail and documentation of repairs.
• Climb ladders and work at elevations up to 60 feet.
• Preferred: Associate degree or Mechatronics Apprenticeship completion.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, build, calibrate, tune and repair furnaces.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
• Diagnose combustion, electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Disassemble, inspect, rebuild and re-assemble heavy industrial machinery.
• Perform Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS) and System Accuracy Tests (SAT).
• Operate and troubleshoot furnaces and control systems.
• Actively promote a safe and healthy work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
