Job summary

We are seeking a Furnace/Palletizer Operator in Training (O.I.T) for the San Marcos, Texas facility. This entry-level role will learn to safely operate furnace and palletizing equipment, supporting production flow and quality output while adhering to safety and process standards.

You will grow into an advanced operator role, assisting qualified operators and the Production Supervisor, with daily operational tasks, troubleshooting, and maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to use hand tools.
• Able to read and interpret production instructions, safety guidelines, and quality specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn operating instructions and monitoring requirements for furnace and palletizer equipment to maintain proper temperature, feed rates, O2 levels and product flow.
• Load/unload materials into the furnace and ensure correct material mixtures according to production specifications.
• Learn how to inspect product quality at various stages and adjust machinery as needed to maintain standards.
• Learn and assist in monitoring system controls, recording data, and reporting deviations or malfunctions to the supervisor, engineering, and maintenance.
• Assist in performing routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment.
• Ensure the work area is kept clean, safe, and organized.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout processes.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.
• Assist with inventory control and material tracking as required.
