Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Sheboygan, WI is seeking a Furnace Tender for the 2nd shift (3pm–1am) onsite at Gardner Denver Thomas. You will operate, inspect and clean furnaces and assist in setting up die casting cells to keep production flowing.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and forklift experience with a license. Safety and hands-on metal handling are essential in this onsite, union environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical diploma preferred.
• 1+ years of Forklift experience with License.

Responsibilities

• Operate furnace or furnaces to melt aluminum ingots or scrap used in die casting.
• Regulate furnace temperature and charge furnace with ingots and scrap aluminum as instructed.
• Deliver metal in proper amounts and proportions to die cast machines for operation without interruption.
• Assist in cooling down furnace and inspect lining for cracks or defects and distribution ladles.
• Set up die casting cell to include ladle, auto-spray, robotic and trim press machines and replace die casting as needed.
• Ensure safety of others by following procedures when filling ladles, driving lift trucks, and pouring metal.
