Job summary

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services: floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and keepsakes for client families.
• Prepare documents related to services, cremations, maintenance, as directed by management.
• Assist with preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, or operation of crematory as permitted by law.
• Perform office duties: phones, fax, computer, multiline phone system, debit card machine, typewriter, postage meter, scale, stereo/video system.
• Run errands for floral delivery, supplies, documents, etc.
• Greet and assist client families entering the office for information and assistance; usher and assist during services and visitations.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family transportation; park cars as needed.
• Assist with visitations, memorials, and funeral services: set up, dressing, casketing remains, delivering items, etc.
• Ensure refreshments are available where allowed by law.

Other general duties include meeting the general public, answering questions and providing information on funeral and cremation information and other related topics, answering phones courteously and in a polite manner, assisting on funeral, memorial and other services or ceremonies as requested by funeral home clients and management.
