Job summary

Service Corporation International’s Seagoville location seeks a Funeral Services Assistant to greet families, answer questions and provide information on funeral and memorial services. You will assist with service preparations, transport duties, and on-site coordination under supervision.

You will handle clerical tasks, operate phones and office equipment, and support cremation and service ceremonies while upholding compassionate, professional standards in line with SCI's mission and policies.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.
• Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes for client families.
• Assists with the preparation of remains, dressing and casketing as directed by management.
• Answers phones, operates office equipment and handles clerical duties.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family transportation.
• Greet families entering the office and provide information and assistance.
• Assists with visitations, memorials and services, including set up, transportation and errands.
• Maintains professional appearance and supports courteous, compassionate service.

Other general duties include meeting the general public, answering questions and providing information on funeral and cremation information and other related topics, answering phones courteously and in a polite manner, assisting on funeral, memorial and other services or ceremonies as requested by funeral home clients and management.
