Job summary

Sci Corp is seeking a funeral services associate in New York to support families after loss. You will learn to arrange ceremonies, negotiate contracts, and handle legal documents, while ensuring regulatory compliance and compassionate service.

Responsibilities include coordinating services, assisting at chapels and cemeteries, and providing aftercare information and support to families. Requires a compassionate, organized professional who can multi-task and adapt to community needs.

Responsibilities

• Learn to arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies professionally.
• Learn to negotiate and create funeral contracts.
• Handle contracts, legal documents, and payments per policy.
• Inform families about veterans recognition/services and ensure delivery.
• Confirm authorization to proceed with service arrangements.
• Verify identity and authorization for embalming.
• Arrange interment or cremation of remains.
• Adhere to company and regulatory requirements.
• Care for the deceased respectfully through tasks like removals, dressing, and casketing.
• Assist with funeral services: parking, ushering, driving, chapel and cemetery support.
• Provide aftercare and information on insurance, health benefits, and pensions.
• Complete and prepare all service-related documents.
• Assist with office duties and vehicle/facility maintenance.
• Receive caskets and supplies and manage inventory.
• Ensure refreshments are available when permitted by law.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
