Job summary

Hirtle & Co. is seeking a senior in-house counsel to advise on private funds and regulatory compliance, reporting to the General Counsel. The role spans risk management, governance, finance, and data privacy within a fast-paced advisory firm.

You will draft and negotiate fund documents, review investor rights agreements, and support the firm's compliance program, including SEC matters and examinations. Strong collaboration with the Chief Compliance Officer is essential.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 4–10 years of law firm or in-house experience for an investment adviser.
• Experience with private funds formation, LPAs, PPMs, and related docs.
• Strong knowledge of Adviser/Investment Company Acts and compliance programs.
• Ability to draft, review and negotiate investor rights agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provide broad legal support across the firm's operations.
• Advise on risk management, governance, financing and fund documentation.
• Support regulatory filings and compliance policies, including ethics and trading.
• Collaborate with CCO on compliance programs and regulatory examinations.
