Job summary

Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Ellsworth, Maine, seeks an executive director to advance the mission of feeding the hungry with dignity and respect. The role focuses on fundraising and donor development, serving as the chief spokesperson, and guiding the organization in collaboration with the board.

The ED will spend substantial time on fundraising, community leadership, and program oversight, ensuring compliance, strong finances, and impactful programming while engaging volunteers and neighbors

Qualifications

• Significant fundraising experience and donor development expertise.
• Proven senior management experience in the nonprofit sector.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization.
• Develop and implement a robust fundraising plan with the board; cultivate major donors.
• Oversee marketing, communications, outreach, and media relations.
• Ensure sound financial management, budgeting, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee programming quality and alignment with the mission; manage HR and volunteers.
