Job Description:

The MCLA Office of Institutional Advancement is hiring Advancement Ambassadors for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The Office of Institutional Advancement includes alumni relations, fundraising, conference planning, planned giving, and the MCLA Foundation, Inc. These offices secure donations for scholarships and programs, keep alumni connected to MCLA and manage numerous campus events.

Last year, the Office of Institutional Advancement raised over 2.5 million dollars which support students and advance the mission of the College. Additionally, the Office of Institutional Advancement just completed a comprehensive 5-year campaign that raised over $33M.

Some of the duties of Ambassadors include:

• Assisting with event preparation, including creating signs, gift bags, and name tags.
• Staffing large alumni events, such as Homecoming Weekend and Golden Graduate events during Commencement weekend.
• Staffing large student events such as 100 Days to Commencement.
• Assisting with publicity of events and large mailings.
• Conducting internet research and reporting findings.
• Conduct research to support fundraising and alumni engagement.
• General office work, such as data entry, organizing, inventorying, coverage of front door and phone when needed.
  

Requirements:

• Has an interest in marketing, public relations, and/or development.
• Shows attention to detail.
• Is reliable, with the ability to commit to scheduled hours and some flexibility for events.
• Able to take direction and carry out tasks independently.
• Works well in both a team environment and as an individual.
• Currently enrolled at MCLA.

Preferred Requirements:

• Is interested in learning about the Alumni Association and MCLA Foundation.
• Is not afraid to offer suggestions.
• Has an outgoing personality and a sense of humor.
• Is creative.
• Has knowledge of the campus.

Additional Information:

This position is only open to current MCLA students.
