Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Business Development Coordinator in Northern California to support fundraising growth and operational excellence through gift processing, data analysis, and reporting. You will lead volunteers and provide systems training to keep donor data clean and portfolios current.

You will collaborate across teams, ensure deadlines are met, and deliver actionable insights to leadership while guiding volunteers and staff in Salesforce and Donor Portal usage.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or equivalent required.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Skills & Abilities: Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Basic proficiency in use of word-processing, spreadsheet applications, AI, and database applications when applicable.
• Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout region.
• Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

Responsibilities

• Lead volunteers who perform data entry to support the development team.
• Identify gift adjustments and linking requests for accurate revenue reporting.
• Analyze data and reports to help leadership track performance and goals.
• Lead gift processing operations and ensure timely processing.
• Coach volunteers and staff on gift processing procedures.
• Maintain data hygiene and donor records across the region.
• Support portfolio management and transfer accounts to relationship managers.
• Monitor gift activity and ensure alignment with regional goals.
• Provide updates to leadership and managers for timely follow-up.
• Deliver Salesforce training and Donor Portal training for new hires.
