Overview

Job Title: Fundamental Analyst

Location: Houston, TX

A global energy company is seeking a sharp and driven Fundamental Analyst to support its expanding asset hedging and trading business in the power sector. This role is ideal for someone with 3-5 years of experience in quantitative and fundamental analysis, within U.S. power markets. You will report directly to the Head Trader and play a critical role in supporting investment, origination, and hedging strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative and fundamental analysis to support trading and hedging decisions in power markets.
  • Work with large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across ISOs.
  • Build and maintain financial models and analytical tools to support asset valuation and strategy development.
  • Collaborate with trading, strategy, and commercial teams to deliver actionable insights.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in power analysis, trading support, quantitative analysis, or financial modeling within power markets.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. ISO markets; ERCOT experience is highly recommended.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Python
  • Experience working with large datasets and data visualization tools.
