Job summary

Seattle Public Schools seeks an experienced accounting professional to analyze data and produce internal management and project-level reports. The role ensures compliance with Federal/State regulations and district policies for all funds, and provides guidance on records maintenance.

Responsibilities include processing cash receipts, reconciling accounts, preparing vouchers, and supporting audits. The position collaborates with HR, Payroll, and Technology to ensure accurate financial operations

Qualifications

  • Three years of accounting experience in a computerized environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or closely related field; Master's preferred or equivalent.
  • CPA or other financial professional qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data and produce internal management and project-level reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations and district policy for funds.
  • Prepare journal vouchers and reconcile accounts.
  • Monitor grants, trusts, capital projects funds, and general fund; approve payments and travel.
  • Prepare reports and statements for audits and external users.
