Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Experience in private equity, real estate, or similar asset manager preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and US GAAP knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Accounting and Finance function; manage month-end close and financial reporting.
• Coordinate filing with external tax CPAs for multiple entities.
• Oversee daily real estate operations, leasing tasks with brokers, and external projects.
• Maintain accurate books and records; reconcile GL accounts and cash activity schedules.
• Implement improvements to financial procedures and workflows, including AI solutions.
• Oversee fund performance and review fund financials.

A boutique investment firm, based in LA, is looking for an experienced Accountant with both Fund (Real Estate / Private Equity) and Corporate accounting experience. They will take full ownership of accounting, finance, tax and real estate responsibilities with the support of outsourced Audit and Tax firms.

The individual will need to be self-motivated and have the ability to operate independently as an individual contributor.

This is a HYBRID role in LA.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Accounting and Finance function; manage month-end close, prepare financial reporting packages, provide internal/external reporting
• With the use of external tax CPAs, prepare filing for multiple business and entity returns
• Overseeing daily real estate operations, coordinating leasing tasks with brokers, and managing external projects
• Maintain accurate books and records, reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare cash activity schedules
• Implement improvements to financial procedures and workflows with the use of AI
• Oversight of fund performance and review of fund financials

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA preferred but not required
• Prior experience as within private equity, real estate, or a similar asset manager
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting principles
• Self-started and motivated to work autonomously
