Job summary

Geneva Search Partners LLC in Chicago, IL seeks a detail-oriented fund accountant to support the accounting, reporting, and operations of investment vehicles, partnering with Finance, Operations, Treasury, Tax, Compliance, Valuation, Business Development, and Technology teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in fund accounting, financial reporting, and investment operations, with experience in monthly closes, GL, and financial statement prep, and will collaborate with auditors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of fund accounting or financial services accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of partnership accounting and investment funds, and financial reporting.
• Experience with monthly closes, general ledger accounting, and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the setup, onboarding, and ongoing maintenance of investment vehicles and capital accounts.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end fund close processes, including general ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review quarterly financial statements, investor reporting packages, and capital account statements.
• Support annual external audits for multiple fund entities and coordinate with auditors to ensure timely completion.
• Analyze and forecast fund performance, including income, expenses, and investment activity.
• Prepare management reporting, regulatory reporting, and ad hoc financial analyses.
• Monitor fund cash activity, capital transactions, and investment-related accounting entries.
• Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist in process improvement initiatives and implementation of accounting controls and best practices.
• Support special projects and strategic initiatives across the Fund Accounting department.
