Quiet Capital in the United States seeks a Functional Safety Manager to own every standard and regulatory requirement touching our products. The role bridges IEC 61508 lifecycle to the certificates, data packs, and safety manuals that support customers' safety arguments.

You will manage the safety plan, lifecycle phases, gates, and safety case, and you will liaise with certification bodies while monitoring EU Machinery Regulation readiness for 2027.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in functional safety in regulated domains.
• At least one product through third-party certification end-to-end.
• Deep knowledge of IEC 61508 parts 1-3 and Annex D.
• Working knowledge of ISO 13849 and IEC 62061 from supplier side.
• Ability to review safety analyses and challenge gaps.
• Collaborative mindset with no direct reports; influence-based role.
• B.S. or higher in engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own standards picture across IEC 61508, ISO 13849 and IEC 62061 and related sector standards.
• Serve as named Functional Safety Manager: own safety plan, lifecycle phases, gates, and safety case.
• Hold lifecycle gates and ensure evidence sufficiency and independence.
• Author safety manuals and subsystem data packs used by customers.
• Manage certification body relationships: scope, submissions, findings, surveillance.
• Monitor EU Machinery Regulation readiness and revisions for roadmap alignment.
• Integrate field modification feedback into the safety argument.
