Job summary

Reliance One, Inc. is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to advance safety-related systems for Electrified Mobility, ADAS, and connected mobility. Join a team applying ISO safety practices across vehicle electrical systems and software.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of relevant engineering experience in automotive systems, software, hardware, or controls.
• At least one year of functional safety experience.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262, ISO 21448, IEC 61508, or related safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain functional safety plans aligned with customer program timelines.
• Create and review Item Definitions and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA).
• Perform and review safety analyses (FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, DFA).
• Derive safety requirements and develop functional/technical safety concepts.
• Support safety requirements implementation at system, hardware, and software levels.
• Conduct functional safety architecture and design reviews.
• Define verification and validation testing requirements.
• Support safety reviews, process audits, and product functional safety assessments.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to customers and project teams.
