Job summary

INVENSITY Group is seeking a Functional Safety Consultant in Detroit for a hybrid role combining in-office and remote work. You will lead ISO 26262 activities across concept to production, conducting HARA, FMEA, FTA, and FMEDA analyses while developing safety concepts, requirements, and safety cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Systems or related field.
• 5–7 years of professional functional safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 and lifecycle activities.
• Hands-on safety analyses (HARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA).
• Experience documenting safety concepts and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety activities per ISO 26262 and relevant standards.
• Conduct and review HARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA analyses.
• Develop safety concepts, requirements, and safety cases.
• Define safety plans, verification strategies, and processes.
• Integrate safety requirements into system, hardware, and software.
• Act as technical client contact for safety discussions and reviews.
• Identify risks and mitigation, ensure deliverable quality.
