Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years in engineering software-enabled, electrical/electronic, mechanical, systems, controls, or embedded vehicle systems.
• 2+ years experience with vehicle motion controls (powertrain, steering, brakes).
• 3+ years reading, interpreting, and authoring technical requirements and documentation for system-level analysis and traceability.
• 4+ years applying systems engineering concepts in cross-functional product development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional and global Product Development teams to perform ISO 26262 Functional Safety analysis for new and carry-over vehicle technologies.
• Develop, maintain, and deliver Functional Safety work products, including safety analyses, ratings, concepts, requirements, and documentation.
• Work with SMEs in software, controls, systems, and hardware to identify hazards and define safety requirements.
• Apply Ford Functional Safety processes, methods, tools, and training for consistent execution and traceability.
• Use MBSE and SysML to improve clarity, reuse, and integration of Functional Safety analysis.
• Support common safety ratings, methods, tools, and training materials across Ford teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement to simplify processes and improve delivery speed while maintaining safety rigor.
• Communicate technical conclusions clearly through documentation, reviews, and cross-functional discussions.
