Job summary

PACCAR Electronics in Lewisville, TX is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to develop and maintain FS work products per ISO 26262. You will collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and supplier teams to ensure safety requirements are defined, implemented and tested.

The role requires 3+ years in safety-critical environments and experience with DNG/DOORS Next Gen. Travel up to 10% (including international) is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, systems engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in automotive, commercial vehicles, aerospace, or other safety-critical industries.
• Experience developing or reviewing engineering requirements and specifications.
• Basic understanding of ISO 26262 concepts and work products.
• Experience using IBM Engineering Requirements Management (DNG/DOORS Next Generation).
• Strong analytical, technical writing, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Functional Safety work products (IDEF, HARA, FSC) per ISO 26262.
• Perform impact analyses of specifications and design changes to identify safety impacts.
• Support development and maintenance of Technical Safety Concepts and safety requirements.
• Author and maintain Functional Safety procedures, work instructions, templates and guidelines.
• Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, test and supplier teams to ensure FS requirements are defined, implemented and tested.
• Utilize DOORS Next Generation to manage Functional Safety work products and requirements.
• Participate in Functional Safety reviews and technical discussions.
