Job summary

A leading engineering and IT services provider is seeking a Full-Time Functional Safety Engineer in Frisco, Texas. This role involves defining hardware and software safety requirements, performing verification planning, and ensuring compliance with ISO26262 standards. Candidates must have experience with SOC design, knowledge of system safety methods, and preferably some software development experience. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Defining HW and SW safety requirements.
• Performing the verification planning including safety metrics.
• Defining and maintaining the Safety Manual.
• Assessing product line compliance to ISO/IEC metrics.
• Direct re-use of safety cases and designs for safety and cost.
• Addressing critical system safety topics with customers.
• Evaluating proposed technical solutions for SW development.

About the role

• We are looking to bring on a full time resource for functional safety engineering we offer 401k, pto, etc.

What you'll do

• Defining HW and SW safety requirements
• Performing the verification planning (including safety verification plan to verify safety metrics, pre-silicon and post silicon)
• Defining and maintaining the Safety Manual.
• Be responsible for assessing and determining product line compliance to the ISO/IEC metrics.
• Direct re-use of safety cases and re-use of designs through advice, metrics reporting, and timely escalation in order to achieve the required standards of leadership in safety and cost.
• Recognize when and how to address critical system safety topics with customers and represent the business in forums.
• Participate in evaluations of proposed technical solutions (in decided architecture) with the purpose to judge the possibility of developing and calibrating a SW solution

Qualifications

• Experience with SOC design and microprocessor architecture
• Experience with the ISO26262 standard is a must
• Experience with software development is a plus
• Extensive knowledge of system safety and monitoring methods
