Role Description

The Functional Nurse Practitioner is a full-time, on-site role based in Hinsdale, IL. This role involves conducting comprehensive patient assessments, reviewing health histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing individualized functional medicine care plans. The Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care, including follow-up visits, medication and supplement management, and coordination of services such as IV therapy in collaboration with other clinicians. Day-to-day responsibilities include patient education on lifestyle, nutrition, and preventive strategies, documentation in the medical record, and participation in care team discussions to refine treatment approaches. The role also requires maintaining current knowledge of functional medicine practices, adhering to regulatory standards, and contributing to a patient-centered, collaborative practice culture. Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license with full practice authority in the state of Illinois, national board certification (e.g., FNP, APRN or equivalent), and DEA registration.

• Strong skills in comprehensive patient assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and individualized treatment planning.

• Experience or strong interest in managing conditions such as digestive disorders, chronic fatigue, Lyme disease, hormonal imbalances, and pain syndromes.


• Excellent communication and patient education skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear, compassionate manner.


• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation, scheduling, and follow-up workflows.


• Demonstrated organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage a full-time patient caseload on-site.


• Commitment to evidence-informed practice, continuous learning, and maintaining relevant continuing education.


• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; current BLS/CPR certification required.
