Job summary

Community Horizons in Appleton, WI seeks a long-term childcare provider for a 9-year-old with ADHD, OCD, and anxiety. Flexible hours (20–40/wk) including after-school, summers, evenings, and weekends with no set schedule, starting at $17.97/hour. Mileage pay offered for child transportation and outings.

The caregiver will engage in activities, supervise safety, transport as needed, support homework, and help with meals and personal care while promoting a stable, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
• Able to pass a Wisconsin background check.
• Experience working with adults or children with complex needs (Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, Autism, ADHD, ODD, Etc.).
• Proven dependability and commitment to caregiving for children with special needs.
• Ability to provide emotional support and use de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Keep the family looped in on daily activities.
• Ensure child safety and supervision at all times.
• Engage in fun activities at home or in the community.
• Provide transportation for activities and appointments.
• Perform after-school pickup as needed.
• Offer emotional support to the child and use de-escalation tactics.
• Help with homework and prepare snacks and dinner.
• Assist with personal care tasks (teeth brushing, hygiene, shower).
• Help the child maintain a clean space.
• Flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

A family in the Appleton area is looking to find a long-term childcare provider for their 9-year-old daughter who struggles with mental health. This little girl does have ADHD, Anxiety, OCD, ODD, and depression. This family is looking for someone who can help take their daughter to do fun activities while mom runs errands during the day.

Location: - Appleton, Wi

Families Needed Hours: - This family is looking for help between 20 and 40 hours a week of help

- This is a very flexible position

- Work-life balance

- After-school help along with summer help

- Evenings

- No set schedule

- Weekend help (If you are looking for a set schedule, this family is up for discussion)

Starting pay: - $17.97 an hour

- Mileage Pay is offered (when the child is in the vehicle)

CHILD CAREGIVER TASKS

• This family wants to be in the loop on daily activities
• Make sure that the child is safe and supervised
• Do fun activities with the child either at home or in the community
