Actalent is seeking a Fully-Remote Senior Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician to support Medicare Pharmacy Appeals, ensuring timely processing and compliance with SLAs and quality standards.

The role requires pharmacy technician certification, an active license, 2+ years of experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Work hours run 6am–6pm PT with alternating Saturdays; contract position based in Minneapolis, MN.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Active State Board of Pharmacy License/Registration required.
• Minimum of 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Minimum 1 year of Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel with basic formulas and VLOOKUP).

• Perform PA review and support for prior authorization and appeals cases.

Job Description

We are seeking a technician to support a growing Medicare Pharmacy Appeals team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of Medicare Part D appeal requests while helping the organization maintain service level agreements (SLAs), quality standards, and member satisfaction. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and is comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outbound calls to providers, pharmacies, and healthcare offices to obtain clinical information needed for Medicare Part D appeal reviews.
• Perform pharmacy technician-level review and support for prior authorization and appeals cases.
• Accurately document and maintain case information in multiple systems.
• Process cases efficiently while meeting established turnaround times and deadlines.
• Maintain productivity, quality, and success rate standards established by the department.

Essential Skills

• Pharmacy technician certification
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration
• Minimum of 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
• Minimum of 1 year of Microsoft Office experience (Microsoft Outlook email and calendar management, document creation on Microsoft Word, and sorting data/creating or editing spreadsheets, basic formulas, and VLOOKUP functions on Microsoft Excel)

Work Environment

Work hours are scheduled between 6am and 6PM Pacific Time, with alternating 8-hour shifts on Saturdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
