Job summary

The City of Dover in Dover, NH is seeking a hands-on laborer for routine unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in water, wastewater, and street projects. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role with a pay range of $20.29 to $29.32 per hour and full-time benefits.

The job requires basic tool use, ability to perform demanding labor, and readiness for emergency situations. A high school diploma is required; a CDL-B with air brake and tanker endorsement is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year in construction/road maintenance or related trade work.
• CDL-B license with air brake and tanker endorsement preferred.
• Ability to perform strenuous manual labor in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform labor in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew.
• Assist in installing and maintaining water mains, hydrants, meters, and service lines.
• Operate or assist with light to medium construction equipment and hand tools.
• Support snow removal operations and emergency response as needed.
• Maintain safe work procedures and work collaboratively with others.
• Respond to emergencies 24 hours a day when required.
