Job summary

The City of Dover seeks a skilled Water Systems Operator to oversee the operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities, wells, and booster pump stations. This full-time role involves testing, lab duties, chemical handling, and general public works support to ensure safe drinking water.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, performing inspections, creating work orders, and assisting with emergencies. NH operator licensure and CDL-B are required or obtainable with City training.

Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of operation and maintenance techniques for water treatment and distribution.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures related to water quality.
• Ability to read schematics/blueprints and operate/maintain water system equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, clean water to residents on the City water system.
• Operate and maintain wells, treatment plants, booster stations, and recharge pumps.
• Perform mechanical/electrical maintenance on pumps, motors, and related equipment.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests and record results for trend analysis.
