Job summary

Capitol Distributing in Caldwell, Idaho is seeking an Inventory Clerk to maintain meticulous stock records and ensure accurate storage and counting of products in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include perpetual inventory, cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, labeling, and coordinating with other departments to smooth the flow of goods. The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to operate warehouse equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in Warehouse or Manufacturing environments.
• Experience in inventory management preferred.
• Basic communication skills including verbal, writing, and reading.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft & Inventory systems).
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to understand warehouse mapping and configuration.
• Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a perpetual inventory of products, equipment, supplies and other general items.
• Performs physical counts of inventory.
• Reconciles actual stock count to database records.
• Ensures inventory processes and procedures are properly documented and followed.
• Reviews records to obtain current inventory levels.
• Verifies clerical computations against physical count and adjusts if needed.
• Investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
• Prepares reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
• Ensures proper labeling and storage locations for products.
• Maintains a clean and organized inventory storage area.
• Coordinates with other departments for efficient product movement.
• May perform other routine clerical duties and warehouse tasks.
• May operate forklifts, conveyors, and compactors.
