National Tropical Botanical Garden seeks an organized, people-focused Visitor Program Associate for Limahuli Garden. This full-time role (40 hours/week) primarily operates in the Visitor Center and Limahuli Garden, communicating NTBG’s mission to guests, education groups, volunteers, and community members.

Ambassadors for conservation, the position emphasizes biocultural diversity and cultural knowledge, with duties in guest services, tours, and merchandise sales.

Qualifications

• 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Practical or formal training in biology or botany, and Hawaiian culture and history is strongly recommended.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes the visitor center.
• Greets guests and answers questions.
• Assists with guest parking and check-in; keeps trail signage clean.
• Provides tour options and orientations.
• Runs cash register and sells merchandise.
• Answers telephone.
• Maintains Visitor Center and facility restrooms; keeps areas clean and stocked (toilets, water stations).
• Conducts guided tours if necessary.
