Qualifications

• Must possess NYS Security Guard License.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• A drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and individuals receiving services while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed, and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
• Prepare accurate activity logs and incident reports and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
