Job summary

Rural Office of Community Services is seeking a Community Transit Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for local residents. The role covers Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, operating paratransit vans, mini-vans, and buses within the service area.

The driver will handle route time schedules, assist passengers, perform basic vehicle checks, and maintain records. Strong customer service and a valid license are essential; training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, a good driving record and proof of auto insurance.
• Must be physically able to assist persons needing help while using the service.
• Excellent customer services and communication skills.
• Computer and Microsoft knowledge a must

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers over specified routes according to time schedule.
• Perform and record manufacturer recommended maintenance/repairs of vehicle.
• Assist passengers in entering and exiting vehicle.
• Assist frail and disabled persons to door and carry packages if necessary.
• Inform supervisor of progress and problem areas.
• Maintain required records and reporting.
• Comply with traffic regulations.
• Perform required daily vehicle inspection.
• Ensure that vehicle is kept clean and orderly.
• Maintain confidentiality in appropriate matters.
• Attend necessary staff meetings and training sessions.
