Job summary

Rural Office of Community Services (ROCS) Transit seeks a Transit Driver to provide safe transportation for local residents. The role operates between Monday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with paratransit vans, mini-vans, and buses as primary vehicles.

You will transport passengers on fixed routes, assist with entry/exit, and help frail or disabled passengers. You will also perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain records. Training and meetings are included.

Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be physically able to assist passengers with entering/exiting.
  • All applicants subject to a criminal background fingerprint check.

Responsibilities

  • Transport passengers on specified routes according to time schedule.
  • Perform and record vehicle maintenance/repairs as requested.
  • Assist passengers in entering and exiting vehicle.
  • Assist frail and disabled persons to door and carry packages if necessary.
  • Inform supervisor of progress and problem areas.
  • Maintain required records and reporting.
  • Comply with traffic regulations.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections.
  • Keep vehicle clean and orderly.
  • Attend staff meetings and training.
