The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is seeking a Toddler Program Lead Teacher for the Lealman YMCA Preschool Academy.

This full-time role focuses on nurturing toddlers, delivering quality early education, and creating a safe, enriching environment that reflects the YMCA values. You will plan age-appropriate activities, support social-emotional growth, build strong partnerships with families, and participate in staff meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDA credential or a related college degree.
• Completion of DCF Introductory Child Care Training (Parts 1 & 2).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care and early education aligned with the YMCA's values: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities—arts & crafts, music, storytelling, outdoor play, and more.
• Support positive behavior and foster social-emotional growth.
• Supervise daily routines like meals, free play, and playground time.
• Build strong, positive relationships with families and conduct regular parent-teacher conferences.
• Maintain accurate classroom and program records.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and family engagement events.
