About the Role

As Merchandising Supervisor you will be the expert in merchandising and leading associates to deliver excellent customer service through sales floor merchandising, pricing and recovery. You will teach, coach, develop and supervise associates while consistently executing merchandising processes.

What You’ll Do

  1. Execute store merchandising standards following visual merchandising direction, accomplishing product presentation; make decisions about and adaptations to merchandising direction based on the layout, adjacencies and needs of the store in partnership with the Merchandising Manager.
  2. Maintain a well recovered selling floor where product is displayed in a manner that is clear, easy to understand and compelling to the customer.
  3. Maintain appropriate levels of product on the sales floor by remerchandising and replenishing as necessary based on sell through and seasonal changes.
  4. Coach, teach and train merchandising associates to accurately and efficiently execute company merchandising direction to brand standards.
  5. Execute pricing activities in store, ensuring that price changes, sign changes and ticketing procedures are completed accurately and efficiently.
  6. Support the training of associates on merchandising standards, product knowledge, and tools adhering to Kohl’s brand standards.
  7. Support and partner with the Operations team on merchandising incoming product, ensuring efficient execution.
  8. Lead with integrity, honesty and foster teamwork in an engaged and inclusive culture.
  9. Exercise good judgment; take appropriate partners as needed.

Modeling, guiding and providing direction to associates

  1. Demonstrate and coach a customer service mindset, including customer service philosophies, anticipating customer needs and satisfactorily resolving issues.
  2. Lead by example by personally meeting or exceeding individual goals (e.g., productivity, credit, loyalty).
  3. Support strong operational standards, shortage mitigation, and merchandising presentation to include accurate pricing and proper signing.
  4. Prevent loss by educating associates, monitoring daily store activity, maintaining product protection standards, ensuring company policies are followed and partnering with Loss Prevention.
  5. Monitor and adjust resources as dictated by the business to support customer needs and workload demands when assigned as leader on duty.
  6. Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to make informed business decisions that drive overall store results.

Accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes

  1. Train, monitor and reinforce company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  2. Maintain adherence to company safety policies for the safety of all associates and customers.
  3. Key holder responsibilities include opening and closing store processes, and providing direction to associates.
  4. Other responsibilities as assigned.

What Skills You Have

Required

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  2. Strong verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred

  1. 2 years experience in retail or similar industry.
  2. Experience supervising teams or associates, including the responsibility for coaching to achieve daily performance goals.

  4. Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and basic computer operation.
  5. Ability to operate and communicate on multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
  6. Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance and meet scheduling requirements as set by the company.
  7. Perform work in accordance with the Physical Requirements section.

Physical Requirements

  1. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally over 50 lbs. with a two person lift.
  2. Ability to climb, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, reach, lift, grasp, push and pull on a frequent basis.
  3. Ability to stand / walk for the duration of a scheduled shift (at least 8 hours).
  4. Ability to visually verify information and locate and inspect merchandise.
  5. Ability to comply with health and safety standards.
