Sonesta International Hotels in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Kitchen Steward to maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and related utilities. You will follow Sonesta standards, sweep and mop floors, clean surfaces, and assist with food deliveries for catered events while upholding sanitation and safety guidelines.

The role emphasizes delivering attentive service through the GUEST model, supporting colleagues, and adapting to varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Requires physical stamina for long shifts and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Good communication with guests and team members is essential.

Responsibilities

• Cleans kitchen areas, pots, pans, silverware, and utensils.
• Sweeps and mops floors as scheduled and per need.
• Cleans worktables, mixers, refrigerators, and other equipment.
• Delivers food for catered functions in a timely manner.
• Maintains sanitation and safety guidelines across kitchen areas.
• Supports operations by performing additional duties as needed.

To maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen areas utilities by performing the following duties in accordance with Sonesta Standards.

Principal duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Key Job Functions
  • Cleans all kitchen areas, to include pots, pans, all silver items, silverware, platters, etc., at all times.
  • Sweeps and mops floors at scheduled times and on a needed basis.
  • Cleans worktables, mixers, refrigerators, etc., at all times.
  • Delivers food for catered functions in a timely manner.
  • Cleans kitchen areas and back of house at all times, daily and nightly.
  • Adheres to all Sonesta Sanitation and Safety Guidelines.
• Deliver Passionate & Engaging Service to our Guests
  • You will be passionate and truly engaged in taking care of our guests, recognizing individual guests and anticipating their unique needs in order to exceed their expectations
  • You will consistently deliver our GUEST model:
