Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Steward to keep kitchen and Food & Beverage operations clean, organized, and safe across restaurants, banquets, catering, and events. You'll work as part of a fast-paced hospitality team, ensuring proper dishwashing, storage, and sanitation, while supporting culinary and events teams.

We value reliability, teamwork, and a positive service attitude. A high school diploma is preferred; flexible shifts include mornings, days, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Previous stewarding, dishwashing, kitchen or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, organization and safety.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, sanitize, and store dishes, glassware, and kitchenware.
• Maintain cleanliness across kitchens, dish areas, and banquet spaces.
• Support with waste removal, deep cleaning, and sanitation standards.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with banquet setup and breakdown as needed.
• Monitor supplies and communicate needs to leadership.
• Collaborate with Culinary, Banquets, and F&B teams to ensure smooth operations.

As a Steward, you’ll support the heart of our culinary operations by helping maintain cleanliness, sanitation, dishwashing operations, and kitchen organization across restaurants, banquets, catering, and event spaces. What You’ll Be Doing

• Wash, clean, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, silverware, cookware, kitchen utensils, and Food & Beverage equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization across kitchens, dish areas, storage rooms, banquet spaces, and back-of-house operations.
• Support kitchen and banquet teams by ensuring clean equipment and supplies are available throughout service periods.
• Assist with waste removal, recycling, floor cleaning, deep cleaning tasks, and maintaining sanitation standards across Food & Beverage operations.
• Operate dishwashing machines and stewarding equipment safely and effectively.
• Follow food safety regulations, sanitation standards, HACCP guidelines, OSHA requirements, and hotel safety procedures at all times.
• Help organize and store china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and banquet equipment properly.
• Assist with banquet setup and breakdown support as needed for meetings, events, weddings, and catering functions.
• Monitor cleaning supply levels and communicate inventory or maintenance needs to leadership.
• Support a clean, safe, organized, and efficient kitchen environment for culinary and Food & Beverage teams.
• Work collaboratively with Culinary, Banquets, and Food & Beverage teams to support smooth daily operations and guest satisfaction.
• Help create a positive and team‑oriented workplace aligned with Sonesta’s People People culture.
• Any other duties as assigned.
