Job summary

The Springs of Texarkana is seeking a committed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our therapy team in a skilled nursing setting. You will assess residents’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities and design individualized treatment plans to improve quality of life.

This full-time role requires current Arkansas licensure; CCC from ASHA is preferred. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document progress, and educate residents and families while

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Arkansas.
• CCC from ASHA preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of evaluation and treatment techniques for communication and swallowing disorders.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with NetHealth documentation systems.

Overview:

The Springs of Texarkana is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our therapy team. In this role, you will provide essential speech therapy services to residents in a skilled nursing facility, helping to enhance their quality of life through improved communication and swallowing function.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide direct speech therapy services in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
• Document all evaluations, treatments, and resident progress accurately and in a timely manner
• Educate residents, families, and staff on communication and swallowing strategies
• Participate in care planning and team meetings as needed

Requirements:

• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of Arkansas
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of evaluation and treatment techniques for communication and swallowing disorders
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
• Familiarity with documentation systems (NetHealth experience a plus)
