Job summary

The Springs of Texarkana in Texarkana, TX is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our therapy team. You will provide speech therapy services to residents in a skilled nursing facility, focusing on communication and swallowing improvements.

Responsibilities include evaluating residents, developing individualized treatment plans, delivering direct therapy, documenting progress, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Arkansas is required or preferred.
• CCC from ASHA is preferred but not always required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care is a plus.
• Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide direct speech therapy services per physician orders and facility policies.
• Document evaluations, treatments, and progress accurately and timely.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on communication and swallowing strategies.
• Participate in care planning and team meetings as needed.

Overview

The Springs of Texarkana is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our therapy team. In this role, you will provide essential speech therapy services to residents in a skilled nursing facility, helping to enhance their quality of life through improved communication and swallowing function.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide direct speech therapy services in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
• Document all evaluations, treatments, and resident progress accurately and in a timely manner
• Educate residents, families, and staff on communication and swallowing strategies
• Participate in care planning and team meetings as needed

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of Arkansas
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of evaluation and treatment techniques for communication and swallowing disorders
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
• Familiarity with documentation systems (NetHealth experience a plus)
