Job summary

CommuniCare is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time role at Kenwood Healthcare Center in Cincinnati, OH. The successful candidate will evaluate and treat residents with communication, swallowing, and cognitive goals, collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team, and participate in family education and care planning.

Responsibilities include chart reviews, treatment planning, and leading meetings while offering opportunities to serve residents across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Hold a valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, Review, and Screen patient charts and develop a treatment plan per physician orders.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive issues; administer tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide practice and diet modification guidance.
• Attend/interdisciplinary and family meetings to relay findings and recommendations.
• Treat at multiple locations to meet residents' diverse needs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, Review, and Screen patient’s/resident’s medical charts, evaluations under physician order and develop a treatment plan in accordance with patient’s needs
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and/or cognitive problems, as well as administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills, diet recommendations, and modifications for safe swallowing techniques
• Attend/Lead interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other members of the rehab team, as well as participating in family meetings/education
