Job summary

CommuniCare Rehab is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time position at Keyser Healthcare Center, WV. This role involves evaluating patient charts, developing comprehensive therapy plans, and leading rehabilitative programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognition.

You will educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, provide diet recommendations, and supervise safe swallowing techniques.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Valid or pending WV state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Experience evaluating, planning, and implementing therapy plans preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, review, and screen charts; develop treatment plans per patient needs.
• Direct or conduct rehabilitative programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognition; administer tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers on speech practice, diet, and safe swallowing techniques.
• Attend/interdisciplinary meetings to relay findings and participate in family education.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelors and/or a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Hold a valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Evaluate, Review, and Screen patient’s/resident’s medical charts, evaluations under physician order and develop a treatment plan in accordance with patient’s needs.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and/or cognitive problems, as well as administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills, diet recommendations, and modifications for safe swallowing techniques.
• Attend/Lead interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other members of the rehab team, as well as participating in family meetings/education.
