Job summary

Pleasant Ridge Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, seeks a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a PRN position in Cincinnati, OH. In-house therapists collaborate with the rehab team to support residents' communication, swallowing, and cognitive goals.

Requirements include a Bachelor and/or Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, licensure, and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include evaluating charts, developing treatment plans, delivering therapy,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Speech Therapy License (Required).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate competency in therapy treatment and evaluation principles, techniques, materials and equipment utilization.
• Knowledge of state and federal accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, review, and screen patients’ medical charts and develop a treatment plan.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive issues.
• Administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and practice new skills.
• Provide diet recommendations and modifications for safe swallowing techniques.
• Maintain patient records accurately and timely.
• Attend/lead interdisciplinary meetings and participate in family meetings.
