Job summary
Inver Grove Heights School District is hiring a Full-Time Special Education Paraprofessional to support students across Pine Bend Elementary, Hilltop Elementary, and IGH Middle School. You will work with the special education team to provide academic, behavioral, and emotional support to students, helping them thrive in the school community.
Starting pay ranges from $22.55 to $23.85 per hour, with benefits including sick/personal days, holidays, health insurance options, 403(b) retirement
Qualifications
- Two years of post-secondary coursework (60 credits or 90 quarters) or ParaPro score 460+
- ParaEducator Online Courses: 65% instructional and 70% knowledge & application
- Basic reading, writing and mathematics skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student data
Responsibilities
- Explain and guide SPED students with class assignments
- Monitor and document behavior and assist in behavior management
- Assist with IEP-related modifications and materials
- Support students with personal care and mobility as appropriate
- Assist with meal times, classroom activities, and transitions
- Attend IEP meetings and staff development sessions
- Maintain clean, organized classroom and report any issues
