Job summary

STOCKDICK JUNIOR HIGH in Katy, TX is hiring a SPED - ASIP Aide to support students with disabilities under the supervision of the Principal. The role operates on 187 duty days and is non-exempt, with a starting date of immediately.

The candidate will assist in instructional activities, manage records, and help implement therapy programs as part of SHARS duties. Qualifications include a Texas Educational Aide II certificate or equivalent, ParaPro score requirements, and the ability to follow

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.
• CPI certification preferred (can be obtained after employment)

Responsibilities

• Adhere to federal, state and local policies and procedures related to special education aides.
• Participate in planned in-services and professional growth activities.
• Assist in carrying out the instructional program.
• Assist in maintaining student records, audit folders and data collection.
• Assist in preparation, use and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.
• Assist with teacher-planned activities, exercises and drills.
• Assist when needed in helping students in self care activities such as feeding and toileting.
• Assist in implementing the therapy programs which may require lifting and positioning.
• Attend professional meetings as required.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Physically prompt students through instruction which may require lifting and positioning.
• Other SHARS Duties as assigned.
• Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs.
