Qualifications

• High school graduate with technical training in special education, or equivalent.
• DPI certification provided by employee.
• CPR, non-violent crisis intervention, and first aid certification.
• Meets NCLB standards: two years of college or an associate's degree or ability to assist in reading, writing, and math.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe learning atmosphere and supports students to meet their capabilities.
• Supports and tracks IEP/504 goals and collects related data.
• Facilitates inclusion and promotes acceptance of differences.
• Leads small groups and one-on-one instruction under teacher guidance.
• Implements student accommodations on assignments and tests.
• Provides student supervision across educational environments.
• Prepares notes and materials for substitutes when absent.
• Provides basic first aid and maintains related logs.

Education
